Mission and Vision

The Corvinus Business School seeks to excel as a provider of high quality, cross-disciplinary, and internationally relevant business education and research, emphasizing the relationship between business and society in promoting sustainable enterprises and communities. To this end, CBS aims to continue to

-          provide modern education in core management areas to develop decision makers for dynamic global environments;

-          nurture current and future academic staff; and

-          encourage both applied and scholarly research that contributes to the international business and academic communities alike.

Our mission is to educate responsible business leaders and advance knowledge to promote the progress of global business and society (responsible leadership, sustainable business practices, global orientation).

 

The current strategy of the CBS focuses on internationalization and research. In line with these goals, the CBS places a particular emphasis on the following key strategic areas:

 

-       Attracting outstanding academic staff and students, from all around the world;

-       Through the above improving intercultural communication and understanding;

-       Supporting academic staff and students in gaining international experience to foster their personal and professional development;

-       Building long-term cooperation with leading academic and business organizations, in both the private and public sectors; and

-       Providing a supporting infrastructure – to include library and IT services of outstanding quality and dormitories which meet the needs of a great variety of students and make the pursuit of high-quality education and research possible, as well as ensuring the requisite conditions for sport and cultural activities of students and staff.

 

When implementing its strategy, the Corvinus Business School is committed to its core values: responsible leadership, sustainable business practices, and global orientation.

 

-          Responsible leadership: Giving our students the knowledge skills and values to encourage them to become responsible leaders in the future, with concern for theplanet and people, as well as profit;

-          Sustainable business practices: Researching, developing and promoting social, financial, and environmental approaches that lead to sustainable businesses and communities;

-          Global orientation: Providing education and research that reflects the fast-changing global environment and the need for global citizens.

 

We are driven by six principles:

 

Principle 1 – Purpose: We develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.

 

Principle 2 – Values: We incorporate into academic activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact.

 

Principle 3 – Method: We create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership.

 

Principle 4 – Research: We engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value.

 

Principle 5 – Partnership: We interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges.

 

Principle 6 – Dialogue: We facilitate and support dialogue and debate among educators, students, business government, consumers, media, civil society organisations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.
